It was 45 degrees and mostly sunny at 8:30 A.M. on Good Harbor Hill in Cook County, Minnesota, North America.
The cowbirds dominated the neighborhood. Three brown-headed males and one gray female went from tree to tree to feeder. They were up to something. Next thing she will be laying eggs in someone elses nest. They are beautiful though, and it is Mother’s Day after all.
It is 35 degrees and there is a dusting of snow on the ground. We have been fooled by the earliest spring in over a century.
A really breasted nuthatch is on the porch…

I have counted nine species of birds in ten minutes from the north porch. It reminds me of Kampala, Uganda…
It finally rained after so many days..
50 degrees and a few clouds on Good Harbor Hill at 7:00 a.m. The steelhead have been running in the Lake Superior rivers since March when the snow was gone. It is a remarkable year to say the least.

Bald Eagles, Vultures, and Ravens up the Gunflint Trail. 60 degrees or so..
I saw a dragonfly. I didn’t believe it at first. Then I saw it again.

It was 49 degrees and sunny at 8 a.m.
No lbbs in site. Where are they?
